The “Commander in Chief” of the Ambassador teams this year is Terry Nobles. He is a proud member of the Marines Ambassador team.

Terry serves as the Marketing Director for Kirkpatrick Architecture Studio, a commercial architecture and engineering firm headquartered in Denton since 1978. In addition to his “day job,” he is beginning his 5th term as President of the Governing Board for Music Theatre of Denton, now in its 25th Season. He also serves on the Denton Festival Foundation Board, the Campus Theatre Advisory Board, the Beaujolais and More committee, and is an elder of the session at First Presbyterian Church in Denton. He is a member of the Greater Denton Arts Council and The Arts Guild.

In civilian life, Terry is married to Marlene, a DHS math teacher, and they have five children and six grandchildren. In his off hours, he has been seen on the Campus Theatre stage in a few acting roles.

The Chamber of Commerce is in full growth mode, even during the downturn. This is when businesses need to rely on each other the most. The Marines may be the smallest Ambassador Team this year, but I promise you our team is one of the closest! Each member of the Marines has something different to contribute to every occasion due to the diversity of our team members. I am very proud of everyone on the Team and believe that I can call everyone a true friend. The Ambassador Program has been a great tool for making business connections that a lot of us would not have made other wise.

I have greatly appreciated the opportunity in leading our fearless Marines this year! The time we’ve spent together has been priceless!

Always ready! Always there! Always Army Strong!

Our Army team is dedicated to serving and supporting the Denton Chamber of Commerce. We support new Chamber Members at Orientation (a mini boot camp for new businesses joining our Denton Chamber). There we have the opportunity to share our networking success stories and what the Chamber has done for the growth of our businesses.

We also attend explosive Grand Openings & Ribbon Cuttings with a show of our military ambassador support engaging the opportunity to meet with business owners and exchange our business information (support & network).

The Army team is always in strong force at all the Denton business networking events and Chamber Expos. We all have full-time jobs but leave our daily tasks to go support new members and network with other businesses. We enjoy what we do (standing ready to deploy). We put in a little effort and get a lot back in return.

The NAVY Top Guns are a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Team, made up of approximately 30 "gung-ho" Chamber members. The group consists of small business owners, local bank employees, T.W.U. and U.N.T staff, insurance agents, realtors, title escrow officers, loan officers, marketing ersonnel, and a number of independent entrepeneurs.

As Ambassadors, we try to attend all Chamber functions and support new businesses in town by greeting them at the New Member Orientation and attending the Ribbon Cuttings for new and relocating businesses.

Our NAVY Team also enjoys getting together socially once a month at various local Chamber members' resturants. Last month the NAVY Team's project was raising money for a new dishwasher for the Chamber Of Commerce Office. The staff had been without an automatic dishwasher for months! We understand that the gift has significalntly increased morale now that the staff does not have to worry about "dishpan hands"!!!

Being Ambassadors has given us a great opportunity to get to know others in the community on a more personal level and we LOVE it!! Come join us!!

Currently, we are a proud team of 27 Ambassadors who have earned the “Team of the Month” several times. While this is quite an honor, we do not push or make it mandatory attendance at the Chamber of Commerce events, and respectfully feel that career commitments do come first in the schedule.

The Thunderbirds have a strong sense of cohesiveness with each of our other team members, and truly enjoy each other’s company both socially and in the business world. Our Thunderbird Ambassador Team has adopted and strives to live up to the motto of the Air Force -- “Above All”.

We use the theme of “Search and Rescue” to invite other business leaders to join the Thunderbirds in an effort to enhance their networking opportunities, and add growth to their business.
